The High Court of Delhi has expressed its strong displeasure against the indecent dance performances held at the ‘Holi Milan’ function organised by the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) in Patiala House Court complex of Delhi.
The full court order raised objection against the event that took place on March 6 in Patiala House Court complex of Delhi and said that it was not in line with the high moral and ethical standards of the legal profession.
The High Court observed that it had the effect of tarnishing the image of the judicial institution.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge, New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts was directed to issue a showcause notice to NDBA within three days and to take appropriate action and send a report to the High Court after taking into account the response of NDBA.
Further, the Principal District and Sessions Judge was directed not to allow the court premises to be used by the present Executive Committee of the New Delhi Bar Association for any event, till further orders.
