A notice has been issued to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Delhi High Court on the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in relation to the Delhi excise policy case.

The bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma has asked the intelligence agency to file its report on the same in next 2 weeks.

The counsel of Sisodia said that everyone other than his client has been granted bail in this case.

Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan asked the court to issue notice at the earliest.

The Court has now posted the case for further consideration on April 20.

The Senior Aam Aadmi party leader and the  Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had moved Delhi High Court against the order by the trial court order which denied him bail in the case related to the alleged Delhi excise police scam by CBI.

Both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have filed cases against him under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), respectively.

The bail plea of Sisodia was rejected by the Trial court on 31st  March.

The  Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal had noted that the former excise minister played the most important and vital role in the criminal conspiracy related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy case.

Sisodia has been behind bars since February 26 when he was arrested by the CBI. Subsequently on March 9, he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on allegations of money laundering.
