Supreme Court Collegium proposes new Chief Justices for seven High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended appointment of Chief Justices in Kerala, Orissa, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Bombay, Telangana and Gujarat.

The resolution on the same was pased by the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud.

The resolution was uploaded on the official website late on Wednesday night.

As per the recommendation, Justice Sunita Agarwal who was judge of the Allahabad High Court, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.

Another name recommended is that o fJustice Subhasis Talapatra,who was judge of the Orissa High Court and has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Next in the list is Justice Ashish J Desai, Acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

Another name been recommended is that of Justice Siddharth Mridul, judge of the Delhi High Court, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.

Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, who is the judge of the Bombay High Court, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice Alok Aradhe, next on list is judge of the Karnataka High Court, has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Allahabad High Court judge Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya,has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
