Denied interim bail in high court, Arnab knocks on Supreme Court door

New Delhi (ILNS): Denied interim bail by the Bombay High Court, Republic TV editor Arnab Ranjan Goswami has now approached the Supreme Court for bail, challenging the high court order. The high court had deemed the case not suitable for urgent bail and had asked Goswami to approach the Sessions court in Alibaug for regular bail.

Charges against Goswami have been framed in the the 2018 abetment to suicide case.

In his appeal to the top court, Goswami has made the State of Maharashtra (through its secretary, home department), the Station House Officer, Alibaug Police Station and Param Bir Singh, Mumbai Police Commissioner as respondents.

The case is yet to be listed.
