Justice Amit Sharma takes oath as the permanent judge of Delhi High Court

Justice Amit Sharma of the Delhi High Court has taken an oath as permanent judge today.

The oath to Justice Amit Chandra was administered by Chief Justice Satish in the judge’s lounge of the Delhi High Court.

On March 3, the Central government cleared appointment of Justice Sharma as permanent judge.

On February 15, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Justice Sharma to be made permanent.

in the resolution passed by the Supreme Court Collegium it was noted that the Delhi High Court Collegium had unanimously recommended on January 9 that Justice Sharma be made a permanent judge.

The Supreme Court Collegium has held consultation with Supreme Court judges who were well versed with the Delhi High Court.

The Collegium also evaluated the material placed on record including the observations made by the Union Law Ministry’s Department of Justice as well as the report of the Judgment Evaluation Committee constituted in terms of the October 2017 resolution of the Supreme Court Collegium.
